My mother was one of those discarded as you describe, and I was threatened with arrest for attempting to visit her as she was dying. Her funeral was a criminal offence, couldn’t even sing the hymns, and not allowed a wake.

During my last diabetes check up I was offered both the regular annual flu jab and a Covid booster jab. I had the regular flu jab but I told the nurse that I would rather not have any more of the Covid jabs. I thought that she might start trying to pressurise me into having one but she stated the opinion that it should very much be a matter of personal choice.
