Gone

It seems that PayPal had a change of heart and reinstated the accounts of the FSU along with that of UsForThem. However, this is not really a change of heart, it is a response to the backlash they got when they hit a target that was prepared to fight back and subsequently caused a run of account closures. This wasn’t a genuine ‘we’re sorry’ moment, this was cynical backsliding as a consequence of pushback and nothing more.

I have been having trouble cancelling my account and have had to pick apart my many subscriptions one by one until the whole thing was cleared out. Today – despite the news – I have finally given PayPal the boot. The U turn isn’t good enough. They have shown us their true colours and that they are prepared to interfere in the political discourse in a foreign country. I will have nothing to do with such an organisation. So, they are gone. I can manage without them. I do not despise them less because of their decision. They are still on the axis of evil.

  1. I’m glad the FSU have said they will no longer be using them regardless. It would have been wierd to have so many people quit their accounts, only to have the FSU still using theirs.

  2. Shut my account down a few days ago and senior management is in the process of shutting hers. Paypal’s cynical reverse ferret is just as dispicable as their original transgression.
