Where’s Mystic Meg?

I mean, no one saw this one coming, did they?

A security guard who started a relationship with a Ukrainian refugee after he and his long term partner gave her a place to live has dumped her following a furious bust-up, MailOnline can reveal today.

Tony Garnett, 30, claims he has thrown out Sofiia Karkadym, 22, after accusing her of not being able to handle alcohol and using a knife to damage a wall at their rented home.

With her belongings now in black bin liners ready for collection, he also accused her of interfering with his relationship with his two daughters, saying that he would always put them ‘first’.

Tony fell for Sofiia just days after she started living with him and his partner of ten years Lorna Garnett, 28, who is the mother of his two children.

He and his now ex-girlfriend made headlines in May after he left Lorna and moved out of the family home with his new lover so they could start a new life together.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, he revealed today: ‘I am 100 per cent through with her. We are finished as a couple.’

May to September, so longer than expected, but an entirely predictable outcome. I’m sure his wife can now allow herself a wry smile. I suspect that she’s better off out of it.

  1. Definitely better off out of it, although MSM are keen to portray men as sex-starved beasts.

I’m sure there have been a few women cuckolding their men and enjoying a ‘cultural exchange’ with their new lodgers.

  2. The biggest mystery for me is how such stories reach the Daily Mail in the first place. Do the ‘journalists’ trawl social media for pics of “Me and my new refugee girlfriend” and then bribe the parties involved for the story? Why else would someone volunteer to be a national laughing stock?

    • Jay. Sometimes reporters will trawl social media for interesting stories or at least stories that will get their potential readers to either buy a copy of the newspaper or click on the paper’s website. However it’s equally possible that the Mail was contacted by those close to Tony Garnett who were disgusted about his abandonment of his wife and kids for what has turned out to most likely be a few quick shags with the Ukrainian guest. Sometimes revenge is not eaten cold but served up by way of a warm printing press.

But we cannot discount that Garnett deliberately came forward himself and cooperated with the paper on the grounds that it would give him social media clout in an environment where there is no shame in being an arsehole and almost anyone can paint themselves as a victim and thereby get ‘victim points’. There are a lot of narcissistic people out there who want to be in the limelight and are not too choosy how they get into that limelight.

In any event, Garnett is an idiot and the Ukrainian guest he shacked up with seems equally wedded to the idea of wanting some form of social media clout. If Garnett could not keep his small brain in his pants and put his wife and kids first then maybe his wife is better off without him.

  3. I know someone similarly playing with fire, far as i’m aware no, er, dabbling has taken place but the ‘guest’ is causing increasing havoc regardless taking the gaff over, signalling that virtue isn’t all its cracked up to be even if there’s some handy taxpayer funded compo involved.

  4. They got married when she was 18 and face tat man was 20, then had two kids? I suppose it could have worked, but it was likely doomed anyway, before mail order wench arrived

  5. I am surprised considering the number of Ukranian refugees who are young single women that this has not happened more. I think that says a lot about the character of most of them. (Not sadly the one in this story)

  6. He’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer is he. The old proverb about the grass being greener seems to be particularly relevant here!
