That’s The Way To Do It

No messing about. Just get in there and sort it.

This is the moment an Italian security guard tears protestors’ hands off a priceless Botticelli painting at a Florence art gallery – in stark contrast to guards at London’s National Gallery, who simply watched on when eco-zealots did the same.

The out-of-patience security official stormed over to the young pair and pulled their superglued hands from the Renaissance masterpiece shortly after they began their short-lived protest in the Uffizi Gallery on Friday morning.

It struck a jarring contrast to the inaction shown by British guards at the Trafalgar Square gallery this month, where Just Stop Oil zealots were allowed to cover over John Constable’s The Hay Wain with their own version.

This is precisely how to deal with such behaviour. It is antisocial behaviour and is happening on private property, so the property owner or his security is entitled to remove them. If this is done every time it happens, eventually, they will tire of the game. It only continues here because our authorities are too weak mined to actually do something about it.

And, no, I am not opposed to the right to protest. However, as with free speech, that right does not exist on private property, and behaviours such as closing off public roads is already illegal under the Highways Act, so the law should be applied to them as much as it would be to us. Also, these zealots want to oppress the rest of us with their insane vision of the world, so resistance needs to be robust.

  1. Why don’t they just lead the way by not using oil based products themselves and showing us just how easily it can be done? Just stop buying anything that was manufactured or transported using oil, how hard can it be?

  2. “They will tire of the game”

If the the skin on the palm of their hands is ripped off, they will DEFINITELY think twice before doing it again…

  3. I wish someone would super glue their lips together, save us from hearing them spouting shite.

I dunno, mandatory 2 years chokey for this nonsense should sort it pretty quickly.

  4. I think that there is a chance that the general public will really turn on these people if this next winter is a cold one. The government is already making noises about us having to use less gas and electricity because supplies and the electricity grid have been screwed up because the government has been pandering to these idiots for decades. The green chickens are coming home to roost. Of course they will try to blame Putin but that would require explaining why we ended up so dependent on Russia in the first place.

  5. Wait until they’ve stuck solid, then take off their hand with a circular saw. That’s the way to do it.
