The cancer campaigner, blogger, broadcaster and former teacher, Dame Deborah James, has died aged 40.
Mrs L was diagnosed with this disease in May 2017 and lasted nine months, so Deborah James did rather better. They obviously caught it earlier. Because of the personal connection, this one has resounded with me. I watched Mrs L deteriorate and held her when she slipped away and I still well up when I think about it some four years later, as I am writing this. So my heart goes out to Ms James’ family today.
