On That Truck Thing

You’d think, wouldn’t you, that a convoy of trucks stretching some 45 miles long would make the headlines.

Crickets.

More crickets.

Carl Vernon showed us a clip of that vacuous poltroon Trudeau who dismissed it as  a small fringe minority with inappropriate opinions. Er… since when did he get to decide which opinions are appropriate? The more I see and hear of this nasty little man, the more I despise him and given that despise is where I started out, we are deep into minus figures now.

So, the BBC? Nope, can’t find anything. The Daily Mail does, however. The Guardian? Nope. It does have a whine about Islamophobia, so is highly current with a finger on the pulse. And it’s still flogging partygate for all it’s worth. Oddly enough, Wales online has a piece. But the major outlets are noticeable by their silence. Not the right narrative, of course. It would be nice if this was the Ceausescu moment for national leaders across the globe. One can but hope. If we need evidence that the media is in lockstep with the various governments then this is it. Inconvenient ideas, opinions and outright truth will be deliberately smeared, ridiculed and suppressed if necessary.

The problem for them is that we live in a global, connected world and sooner or later it leaks out. That said, the ‘fact checkers’ are doing their best to downplay it. These days, ‘fact checker’ is interchangeable with ‘propagandist’ and is about as reliable.

  1. I do hope that the expression “change comes slowly at 1st, then all of a sudden” will prove true again.

  2. You’re right re media coverage – or the distinct lack of it when it doesn’t fit their bought agenda. You would have had me puzzled if I hadn’t seen mention of the convoy on an American blog. Mind you, he’s probably one of those right-wing extremists . . . .

      • “You’d think, wouldn’t you, that a convoy of trucks stretching some 45 miles long would make the headlines.”

Yes, you would. However the Canadian government has done nothing other to throw obstacles in the way, they have shut down traffic control cameras, the ones left going are displaying old footage of normal traffic, the highway ahead of the convoy got closed, supposedly due to “adverse weather conditions” where there weren’t any, and GoFundMe have attempted to seize the $5 million funds raised to keep the truckers in food and fuel.

The latest stats I can find is that the convoy has grown, due to American truckers joining in, to 100k trucks stretching for 300 miles. Someone remarked that it can be seen from space but I guess that with satellites, anything can really, so make of that as you will.

Trudeau has promptly disappeared claiming exposure to covid and going into self isolation for 5 days, even though he is fully jabbed and tested negative. IMO he is just hoping that they will give up after a day or two and go home, but he will be disappointed.

If all this really has been hidden from the people of Ottawa, they are going to be in shock tomorrow when the trucks start rolling in, not to mention the 1.4 million people accompanying them.

        • 100k trucks sounds a bit high. It will be interesting to see what happens. Either way, the media have been keeping it in the dark, which is itself suspicious.

          • Yes – another thing which no one seems to know anything about is the world wide protests, which have taken place on a monthly basis for the last 2 years against lockdowns restrictions and vaxxes. Some of these have been reported in the MSM, who have claimed that “a few” or a couple of hundred protesters marched. In actual fact the events took place in 100 cities in 40 countries across the globe on the same day, each city averaging a turnout of half a million protesters, a few breaking the million mark. Such a lot goes unreported, and even when it is, it gets played down and ordinary Joe Public’s mind poisoned against it with misinformation and propaganda. Over this last week riots have been reported in Brussels, protesters beating police, throwing objects and smashing the place up, but if you look closely at the video clips you will see that the “protesters” are Antifa, dressed in all black, helmets and with faces covered. Protesters do not dress like that.

          • Not just played down, but deliberately disingenuously misrepresented. Pejoratives like anti-vaxxer and right wing and conspiracy theorists get bandied about. Hence the perception if it registers at all is completely skewed.

  3. I can remember the deafening silence on the MSM following this:

“In late November 2009, more than 1,000 e-mails between scientists at the Climate Research Unit of the U.K.’s University of East Anglia were leaked and made public by an unkown insider.”

The blogsphere was buzzing for weeks before the media were forced to admit that it had happened. Of course they were putting their ‘move along, nothing to see here’ spin on the story. It shows that burying inconvenient news goes back a fair way and I would say that it is a lot worse now.

      • I confess to buying the Daily Mail. I know we shouldn’t support the MSM – even though the Mail does occasionally put the “other” side of the official narrative. But if nothing else, reading the printed letters (i.e. those that the editor approves of) and comparing them with comments to the online version is VERY revealing… But I have stopped buying our local paper after getting sick of the way they selectively edited my letters to completely change the meaning…

    • There was a time when I listened to the radio news morning, noon and night. Sometimes, if it seemed light on detail, I would expect to see the full story in tomorrow’s paper. I gave up on papers long ago, the same recycled agency reports and PR as everywhere. I finally gave up on the radio some years ago (there is not much of a signal in the new house and when the radio broke —been kicked too often— I never replaced it. Use to check the BBC website, on a ‘what do they want me to hear’ basis; gave that up before last election. So the only MSN I get to hear is secondhand, from blogs like this. You reead it so I don’t have to.

  4. These days, ‘fact checker’ is interchangeable with ‘propagandist’ and is about as reliable.
Surely propagandist is only part of their skills subservient
    to censor ?

  5. This one is tricky to get a handle on. There don’t seem to be that many videos on youtube / BNtube considering the number of supporters claimed to be involved, and much of the footage is repeats. Perhaps the last 2 years have made me even more of a cynic than before, but how many people would you need to set up a rolling ‘welcome party’ on embankments and bridges to look convincing?

The limited aerial shots I’ve seen certainly do seem to show a lot of trucks, but 50k? And many of the other videos seem to just show normal traffic rolling past (by UK standards anyway), though certainly more in one direction than the other. I guess tomorrow will reveal the true extent as even the MSM won’t be able to ignore total gridlock in the capital.

  6. Here in New Zealand ,there has been no mention of any protest taking place elsewhere.I am not surprised as the MSM has been given large bungs by the Government to pay staff wages. There have been protests here with the leader of one of the fringe churches being locked up for a while as an example .

  7. I only know about this convoy from blogs like this and the various youtube and other real news providers.

We live in a narrative of this lethal black death killer, the wonderful “green” future, the ever growing momentum of the milk float “revolution”, the onward march of veganism, and the flowering of previously oppressed “minorities”.

And yet, the sheer hysterical rage of those for whom the millennium is apparently just around the corner.

I think a far more effective strategy for these truckers would be to not go to Ottawa, to simply stop delivering to certain areas and see how these people could “rule” without peasants to till the metaphorical fields for them.
