Let’s Just Look at the Figures

The government and media are stirring up panic, yet

A third case of the newly identified Omicron coronavirus variant has been recorded in the UK, officials have confirmed.

That’s right. Three cases of a variant that is mild. In the meantime out of a population of getting on for seventy million, we have:

It comes after another 37,681 Covid cases and 51 deaths were recorded in the UK today.

That’s a minuscule risk. Going by ONS figures, covid deaths are 19.3% of all deaths between January and July of this year. That’s assuming that the covid deaths were accurately reported and it does not differentiate “died with” and “died from.”

For this, we have more panic, more restrictions and more demonisation of anyone who does not go along with the narrative.

They are scum. Evil scum. They are beneath contempt. I’m not a natural hater, but I hate and despise our political class, the media and the advisers – and I reserve particular venom for the behavioral insights team that has been actively gaslighting us this past couple of years.

  1. I wonder what actual public opinion is on all this. On one hand, I notice, on my shopping trips, that the masks are proliferating again. On the other hand, Mrs. SG is watching the football and I’m not seeing masks in the crowds. Outdoors I would expect they would be at minimum risk, otherwise football fans would be dropping like flies.

  2. Minimal mask wearing here in NW England. My personal observations only, obvs. Just back from 2nd concert in 3 weeks, under 5% mask wearing both times. Venue no interest in Covid status. Shops, 5-10% compliance. Restaurants similar, little / zero compliance with bullshit masking up for the 12 step journey from the door to your table. I look forward to seeing the response from the new ‘regulations’. Not sure of my faith in my fellow members of the public to ignore it. It took a little while from July 19th up here for the population to ditch the masks, I started to notice it drop after about 4 weeks. Compliance 75% early August, 25% end of September, then dropping to minimum. When given the choice, clearly your average person ditches the mask. It took a while for it to gain traction here. A confidence thing, I suppose. When a critical mass of non-compliers become evident, then the remainder ditch them. All will be revealed in the next 10 days.

    • Here in our grotty little town in South Essex maskurbation was slightly up in Lidl today – in a couple of cases with added visors. Other Half’s church chums are all shitting themselves: masks have never been removed in church, by diktat of the insane vicarene, and no-one will challenge her despite privately grumbling. They are beneath contempt.

  3. I do my weekly shopping at a large Sainsburys in Greater Manchester. Shoppers have been split 50/50 between wearers and non-wearers – unlike Andy above in NW England, people seem to have been very slow in abandoning them. (Interestingly, staff have been almost completely mask-free.) Yesterday though, it was about 80% mask wearers. I really don’t understand.

  4. Interestingly I’ve just read a note on another blog that this “latest” scaryvariant with its horrendous deathrate – if it’s got one – is exactly the same one which was reported in South Africa in April. What are the scum trying to cover up this time?

  5. Has anyone actually died from the new variant yet?

Elsewhere, Yougov report that 9% of the population feel that the emergency powers (to remove our freedom on a whim) should NEVER be repealed. 🙁
