A Tiny, Screeching Minority

There are very few trans people about. The majority of them are not activists, preferring to get on with life and allowing others to do the same. So those who are, are a vanishingly small proportion of the population, yet have managed to wield a power out of proportion to their numbers. The NHS is merely the latest organisation to fall under their spell.

The NHS is facing a backlash over ‘woke propaganda’ messages urging people to be more aware of ‘misgendering’ and add pronouns to their email signatures.

NHS Health Education England tweeted a message to mark LGBT month, telling followers it would be ‘focusing on misgendering, which is one of the most common unintentional blunders made by cisgender people.’

It encouraged people to, ‘add your pronouns to your email signature, which provides clarity and encourages others to do the same.’

Bollocks. Utter, utter bollocks. There is nothing common about this. But when it happens it’s no big deal. I was misgendered on Tuesday of this week when I went to collect my groceries. The click and collect guy walked up to the car and addressed me as “madam.” He did a quick double-take and apologised. Was I offended? Of course not. Did I demand that Tesco send him on some sort of re-education programme? Don’t be daft. Did I go onto Twitter, screeching about how Tesco is phobic? What do you think?

But the move has sparked anger among social media users, who said the NHS ‘was not a lobby group for an ideology.’

It would appear that everything is a lobby group for this tiny band of SJWs. See also, Coca Cola with their anti white racism course devised by that execrable race grifter Robin DiAngelo.

In the tweet last night, NHS Health Education England (HEE) wrote: ‘Today, we’re focusing on misgendering, which is one of the most common unintentional blunders made by cisgender people.

There is no such thing as cisgender. This, like the various phobias invented by activists is an attempt by a tiny group of people to label the rest of us and to force us to engage on their terms. I reject the label. I refuse to acknowledge it and I’ll be damned if I use it or sit quietly when others try to identify me as such. And I will never, ever put my preferred pronouns on any piece of correspondence, because again, it’s nonsense. Try reading this absurd article, for instance. The twisting of language makes it unreadable. I will not play their game and I will never allow it legitimacy.

The NHS tweet also featured a graphic explaining misgendering, with the caption: ‘If you misgender someone by accidentally using the wrong pronouns, don’t panic.

‘Correct yourself, make a mental note for the future and move on. Being overly apologetic and making a fuss can make the misgendered person feel bad about your mistake.’

Not too patronising. Indeed, until I started writing this, I’d forgotten about Tuesday’s incident. It’s a non issue.

‘The NHS cares for everyone so our workforce needs to include everyone. Supporting LGBTQ colleagues helps them feel the NHS is a place they want to work, and that can only be good for patients.’

You do this by not bringing it up at work.

  1. I found this comment from Paul Marks at Samizdata interesting.

“As soon as a lot of people started asking questions about the Wall Street crooks (their endless funny money from the Federal Reserve – Cantillon Effect of a few people getting rich at the expense of everyone else) suddenly RACISM, SEXISM, HOMOPHOBIA and TRANSPOBIA stated to get pushed much more.

The Frankfurt School Marxists had long existed – but suddenly Wall Street (and the Corporate Media – such as CNN) started to push these themes and back the people who pushed them.

It was essentially – “do not look at our wealth and ask questions about where all this money came from – FIGHT AMONGST YOURSEVES about race, gender, sexual orientation…..)”.

I tend to find him a bit of a tinfoil hat guy. I also tend to think that the people being accused of this devious plan are not really intelligent enough to have thought of it. The people on the other end are definitely stupid enough though.

  2. A thought I had recently was how many M-F trans would, if it was scientifically possible, actually want the full female biological experience- periods, pregnancy, menopause, etc? Or are they just extreme cosplayers?

      • Statistically about 40% or higher transgender people commit suicide because of the effects of the various drugs that they take to “transition” – they have a hell of a lot of bad side effects – and the psychological pressure of being essentially a freak.

Encouraging someone to embark on a course of action that will virtually guarantee that they will commit suicide is criminal in my opinion.

They need their heads examined, not their naughty bits chopped off and then stuffed with drugs.

  3. It’s reassuring to find that NHS “managers” have four call better to do than pander to strident minorities who are desperate to be important.

  4. @LR Agree, I’m furious at this pandering to vocal minorities and ignoring what majority want. Like BLM, the trans activists are increasing dislike of them

    @FH has a similar pandering:

OT Morrisons’ same security guy challenged me again on mask – I dismissed him as before. That’s two strikes, third one will elicit a complaint to CEO

  5. I always think its funny how archaeologists can takenone look at a 5000 year old skeleton and tell if it was male or female, yet we are now expected to believe that your feelz alter your bone structure

    • I have sympathy with the feeling of being born in the wrong body as I’ve felt that way. However, I get really annoyed by the insistence that everyone panders to this small activist group who are not representative of the whole.

As you say, skeletal structure cannot change. Nor can those pesky XY chromosomes.

That said, if people want to do it, that’s absolutely fine by me.

From what I can tell, it’s the “non binary” mob who are trying desperately to twist the language. Someone who wants to swap from male to female will be preferred to be called madam rather than sir. It’s not they who are insisting on plural pronouns to refer to the singular (and, yes, I know there are times when they refers to the singular) thereby making language awkward and unnatural. Read the linked Indy article for what is a clumsy piece of writing as a consequence.

Let’s be clear here, there are only two sexes – male and female, some minor aberrations notwithstanding. Yet these activists want us to accept all sorts of irrational nonsense. That is, we must bend to their will. Well, I refuse.

  6. “It encouraged people to, ‘add your pronouns to your email signature, which provides clarity and encourages others to do the same.’”

My pronouns are I, me, my, and mine. I’m not sure how knowing that would help anybody.

By the way, I was “misgendered” when I started grammar school. The teacher read my name out in amongst all the girls’ names. Some people don’t know the difference between Francis (male) and Frances (female).

  7. The wife drives fork lift trucks in a wharehouse
She went out to unload a truck one morning and the driver said, ‘Morning mate’
He then did a double take and said, ‘Oh shit, you’re not a mate, you’re a love. I’m really sorry’.
There’s plenty in that statement for activist to get their teeth into, but my Mrs isn’t a dick and she loves telling that story

  8. Trans and cis are terms used in chemistry to describe if certain bonds are on the same side or opposite side of the molecules in sereoisomers. These two words have no place in regular speech. As for people there are normal people, heterosexual men and women. Then there are abnormal people who are all found in relatively tiny sets of individual who label themselves with all sorts of interesting keyboard letters and symbols.
