Yeah, I know, terrible pun. So, we come out of lock-down on the 2nd, only to enter another. My area is tier three, so no real change. Any suggestion that this is based upon anything scientific is absurd. There is no science in what the government is doing here. It is all based on panic and hysteria. Their policies are made up on the back of the proverbial fag packet – whereby they are generously allowing us to have Christmas, something that it s not within their purview to give, for it is ours already.
The original intention to follow the Swedish model was pragmatic and sensible, but the whiff of media hysteria spooked them to the point where they have been on the back foot ever since. As a consequence of hysterical reporting and figures quoted out of context, we now have a trashed economy, lives and livelihoods ruined, decades worth of debt and people dying of curable illnesses that have not been diagnosed in time.
The cure is worse than the disease. This, along with our liberties trampled and rule by diktat. If you dare to challenge this, any evidence you might cite is brushed aside by appeals to emotion – that somehow we don’t care about people dying and we should spend time in ICU. This ignores the simple matter that ICU tends to be busy during the flu season anyway and we are entering the flu season and this one isn’t particularly out of the way. That or appeals to authority – while ignoring the significant body of scientific opinion that disagrees with this nonsense. If you dare to point out that there are flaws in the reasoning, or that this is not scientific or that the policy is doing more harm than good, you need re-education. Yup, straight out of the Soviet playbook there.

He’s qualified to speak on this subject. I have been convinced by him that no-one is sticking any so-called covid vaccine into me.
As I understand it, according to the media, the 90% success rate of the vaccine wad based on it being given to under 55’s. Apparently, they have idea of the success rate on those over that age. We really are governed by numpties and charlatans.
I have no idea what tiers means. I have a vague idea that there are various degrees of lockdown that are supposedly based on the number of alleged cases of Covid that are in your area, but I have no idea which tier that I’m in. I go about my business sticking my mask on when required, squirting hand sanitizer on basically to give the impression that I’m bothered. I’m baffled as to why the vast majority of people think that the government have a clue what they are doing.
