The Soviet Union Lives

So… Internal passports.

Britons are set to be given Covid ‘freedom passes’ as long as they test negative for the virus twice in a week, it has been suggested.

The details of the scheme are still being ironed out by officials in Whitehall, who hope it will allow the country to get back to normal next year.

To earn the freedom pass, people will need to be tested regularly and, provided the results come back negative, they will then be given a letter, card or document they can show to people as they move around.

Christ almighty!

  1. Presumably these freedom passes will contain, name, date of birth, address and, possibly, a photograph. In other words, an identity card.

  2. The logic is simple – if you need a pass, its not freedom.

  3. Two negative tests for a “Passport” aka ID Card?

  4. I’ll wait for the black market to kick off with fake tests and fake passports. The Russians deal with this as a matter of course with a few back handers.

  5. As usual it’s a friend of a friend but I’ve heard of two people locally who have sent back test kits unopened and had a positive result returned . . .

  6. LR I don’t think my comment has gone through, would you be so kind as to look in the bin, many thanks.

  7. I’ve just bought a digital piano on Ebay. Today I went off to collect it, a 150 mile round trip. On my way I have been greatly entertained by the matrix signs over the motorways telling me that I must stay at home and that only essential journeys are allowed. In order to see these messages you have to be going on a journey and not staying at home. There is no practical way to enforce what is allowed anyway. It almost makes you think that the government haven’t a clue what they are doing.

  8. I had just bought a piano, it was essential for me to collect it. What was I supposed to do, pay several hundred pounds to the guy and then not collect it? Sorry mate, I’m not going to stop living just because you’re afraid of dying.

  9. I’m sorry, that last sentence reads like it’s a direct dig at Pcar, it was aimed at the powers that be and ‘fraidy cats in general.

  10. Somehow UK gypos have achieved the seemingly impossible feat of being a protected white community. Their lifestyle might be the only way my indigene family can avoid this new freedom.
