Immoral, Eh?

I’m really not sure that we should be taking lessons in morals from this guy.

The head of the World Health Organization has ruled out a herd immunity response to the pandemic.

Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community becomes immune to a disease through vaccinations or through the mass spread of a disease.

Some have argued that coronavirus should be allowed to spread naturally in the absence of a vaccine.

But WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus said such an approach was “scientifically and ethically problematic”.

Quite apart from that being utter bollocks, this is a man who was responsible for this:

A group of American doctors blasted Tedros in September 2017, accusing him of failing to investigate outbreaks of cholera in the African country, which neighbors Ethiopia. Sudanese leaders classified the outbreak as “acute watery diarrhea” rather than cholera, which is caused by a bacteria found in unsanitary drinking water.

The terminology affected whether outside health organizations would marshal resources to fight an outbreak of the deadly bacteria.

“Your silence about what is clearly a massive cholera epidemic in Sudan daily becomes more reprehensible,” the doctors wrote in a Sept. 11, 2017, letter to Tedros.

I guess he is right then:

“Letting Covid-19 circulate unchecked therefore means allowing unnecessary infections, suffering and death,” he said.

He has first hand experience in unnecessary infections, pain and death. What a vile piece of shit. I’d sooner take lessons in morality from Satan, frankly. At least he would have a degree of honesty about him.

  1. Guess what the main symptom of Cholera is? Fever with the patient having ‘rice water’ stools as diarrhoea. This Tedros guy is an idiot. Without a decent vaccine the only solution is to achieve herd immunity naturally and to lockdown only the most vulnerable in danger of death. Our lot are making the same mistakes as the authorities did in 1665 when they were ignorant of how the black death specifically and all other diseases were spread. We are not ignorant but……..ye gods!

  2. Regarding this guy’s handling of this cholera epidemic. If you or I had done something as bad as that we would, at minimum, want to disappear into obscurity and never involve ourselves in any kind of decision making ever again. I think that I would probably decide to kill myself. How thoroughly depraved do you have to be to carry on pontificating on public health issues after being responsible for a screw up as bad as that? Also, why is he still being listened to? Why is he not told by everyone that he talks to STFU millions of avoidable deaths cholera screw up guy?

    • Why did people still listen to Ferguson after CJD, foot and mouth, bird flu, swine flu and so on? How many times do you need to get it wrong before people stop listening?

    • Stonyground:“How thoroughly depraved do you have to be to carry on pontificating on public health issues after being responsible for a screw up as bad as that? “

And how morally deficient does an organisation have to be to continue to employ you to do it?

      • We could and should ask the same question about Boris Johnson who has thrown money recently at the WHO despite President Trump doing the right thing and cutting funds for this China dominated organisation.

          • Agree. It did some good work in the past for example with helping to eradicate Smallpox, but in recent decades it is about as corrupt an entity as it is possible to be. BTW I’m beginning to think the same thing about the Tory party, they’ve proven to be unfit for the job of governing nor protecting the freedoms of Britons.

  3. Born in the city of Asmara, Eritrea, Dr Tedros holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Community Health from the University of Nottingham and a Master of Science (MSc) in Immunology of Infectious Diseases from the University of London.

So, not really a Doctor Dr. then?

I’m guessing the refusal to acknowledge the value of herd immunity is because there is no money in at and where there is no money there’s no graft.

  4. Truthful

“Not Letting Covid-19 circulate unchecked therefore means allowing unnecessary infections, poverty, starvation, suffering and death,” he said.

Tedros will say whatever China pay him to say

  5. One thing about Covid 19 is that it doesn’t appear to be very contagious at all. I can recall milder flu like bugs circulating in the past which infected just about everybody. In the case of this one, I hear about there being lots of cases in the media but I don’t personally know a single person who has had it.

    • I know one person who probably had it – well, two if you include his wife. They went to Spain just as things were kicking off and shortly after arriving home had respiratory infection symptoms. Possibly Covid.
