Childishness

Laurence Fox has exposed the cancel culture nonsense for what it is.

Drag Race UK star Crystal is suing the actor Laurence Fox.

In a statement on Twitter, Crystal said she “will not stand for homophobic defamation”.

The Drag Race UK star claims Mr Fox made comments towards her on Twitter that amount to defamation, a legal term for damaging someone’s reputation.

Bollocks. And if it comes to court, I’d expect the same outcome as the Elon Musk pedo guy case.

These people are quick to denigrate anyone who dares to deviate from their orthodoxy with cries of racist – or ascribing some made up phobia, yet when someone does the same thing back they get all whiny and call the lawyers in.

What Fox did here was engage in playground style common abuse, nothing more and common abuse is not defamation. He did to them what they have been all too willing to do to him but they can’t cope with hurty words wounding their delicate feelings. Well, frankly, if you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.

In any sane court in any sane country this will get kicked out as soon as a judge sees it.

I’m hoping that it will come before a sane judge…

What would be really nice would be costs awarded to the defendant à la Sargon and Hughes.

  1. When I read drag race star I thought that it was referring to a motor sport involving quarter mile sprints. Anyway, in the linked story it appears that the BBC are too squeamish to tell us what rude words were actually exchanged.

    • Racist in one direction, paedo in the other. Fox was pretty open about it with Julia Hartley-Brewer. He was making a point albeit a risky one.

  2. I quite agree LR. Laurence Fox talks a lot of sense and I am looking forward to hearing more from him. These ‘woke’ twats need to understand that many of us are not going to put up with our glorious past being pulled to pieces.

  3. The photo says it all. Airlines will be hiring them as stewardesses next. They’ve already made the move in that direction.

    • What airlines could afford to hire them with the current state of air travel? On my most recent transatlantic flight in September there were four people in Premium economy, less than a hundred in economy and Business class was barely half full.

    • Pete the Other. I think you are more than correct about the issue of wealthy backers. There are quite a few of these types out there, not just individuals, but also well financially padded grant making trusts. Some of these trusts that have been taken over by the Left such as the Rowntree Trust are well known but their are others such as the Esme Fairburn Foundation that also dish out hundreds of thousands of pounds to social justice causes are not only less well known, but have departed startlingly from their original founding aims.

The Left these days is not a working class movement as it was in the early days of the Labour Representation Committee. It is dominated by the wealthy middle class and upper class and their Leftism is not the Leftism of the dockworkers or factory workers or those in lower admin jobs, it is an entitlement Leftism born of the self entitlement of the wealthy people whom it now only represents.

      • Fahrenheit, I rather think the working-class type socialists are still there, but now (once again) without leadership or representation. They are presumably the people who switched to the Conservatives at the last election having, like you, determined that the Labour Party no longer represented their interests. Unfortunately as we have seen, nor do the Conservatives.

That will be why the Left of today want to torpedo Laurence Fox’s (and presumably any other) new party. They must be desperate to prevent such an entity from going into a free election.

        • You are correct that the old style working class Methodist-rooted socialists are still there. However they have been sidelined and disregarded by the official Labour movement. If what I’m seeing by way of click through traffic from my place to the Reclaim Party and the large amount of positive social media comment about Reclaim, they could seriously hurt both Labour and Tories. I still believe that Heritage will be successful in traditional Tory seats in taking votes away from the Tories but Reclaim could well do the same in those Labour areas who voted Tory last time but who have been bitterly disappointed at being let down on such matters as Covid and most notably immigration.

You are also correct that what we are seeing now is an attempt by the Left desperately trying to scupper Reclaim as they must see that they have gained an enormous amount of support which threatens the middle and upper class Left’s bully pulpit.

  4. I’m certain I’m missing something but what did Laurence Fox say to defame the ‘ so called ‘ agreived parties?

      • My reaction would be, ‘ Well I asked for it ‘ but these hubristic, self obsessed, shallow ‘ entities ‘ cannot comprehend the old adace, ‘ if you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen ‘.

Unfortunately their self imposed victimhood and complete lack of strength of character means lots of squealing and faux outrage.

What annoys me are the utter reprobates who step in to pay for their legal costs.

Otherwise the great Sgt. Williams quote remains supreme. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

Hopefully the Judge will perceive it from this pragmatic perspective.

  5. It still irks me that our national broadcaster is so pathetic and cowardly that they can’t bring themselves to actually report the effing story. Of course people have landed in trouble recently for quoting wrongspeak in order to condemn it, so it makes sense to be careful. The BBC have always come down on the side of the baddies though, so now they find themselves having to self censor. You reap what you sow, who knew?
