Self Awareness, Much?

For some while there’s been an ongoing legal dispute between Sargon Of Akkad and Akilah Hughes. If, you’re not aware of it, Count Dunkula goes through the basics in the video.

That said, it’s a fairly straightforward case. Back in 2016, Hughes posted a video following Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the presidential election. Sargon cropped the whinge-fest and re-posted it with a heading pointing out SJW lack of self awareness. What followed has been nearly four years during which Hughes has made his case for him repeatedly.

Her opening salvo consisted of a take-down strike on the basis of copyright infringement, which Sargon defended under fair use. YouTube declined to get involved on the basis of it not being their concern, leaving it to the protagonists to sort out. In Hughes’ twisted mindset all of this is racist and YouTube are not applying their terms and conditions. She regards attempts by Sargon to settle the matter amicably and his reasonable attempts to explain fair use as racist – well, of course, what do you expect from a racist?

She upped the ante by suing.

At this stage, the copyright claim might just be believable, given that Sargon had used a fair chunk of the original and made no commentary, using the juxtaposition to do so. Frankly, I felt that it could have gone either way at this point.

Hughes, however then got herself a shotgun and proceeded to shoot herself on the foot. Twitter really is a tool for the hard of thinking. As several others have said – but Hughes simply cannot grasp – do not, under any circumstances, discuss an ongoing legal dispute in which you are involved. Especially on the Internet where anyone and everyone can see it, including the judge presiding over your case.

What did she do? She went onto Twatter and spoke her branes. She told the world – and ultimately the court – that her motives were about bankrupting Sargon. Of course, the defence argued that this was a frivolous claim and the court found in his favour – not least because the plaintiff had made the case for him with her running off at the mouth on social media.

Sargon then went back for costs, which he has just won. Not least because having failed to learn a lesson, Hughes continued to prove his point by ranting on Twatter. She clearly had learned nothing by this juncture

Now having lost again, has she finally learned some dignity in defeat?

Has she buggery. She’s back on Twatter blaming everyone but herself and now she is badmouthing the judge. That’s going to go down well at the appeal…

Get the popcorn out.

  1. Dozy bint! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. My weekly dose of schadenfreude – in spades!

  2. Silly bint never learns, that’s the bottom line. Calls herself a ‘professional podcaster’ and ‘comedian’.

    • Except she’s not professional or funny. Although one would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh at the dose of Karma currently heading her way.

  3. I finally got around to watching the video, I wasn’t aware of this story until now. Great fun watching the karma unfold. It reminded me of the old Spin Doctors song Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong and also the Black Night from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

      • I just noticed that I spelled knight night, I do know the difference honestly. Or should that be no the difference?

      • But, but . . . you surely can’t be right LR because Wiki says she’s a comedian. And aren’t we all laughing our socks off?!

          • The whole sorry saga really is absolutely delicious. She is utterly symptomatic of the new generation of preening little narcissists who insist that their voices ‘must be heard’, but upon listening are found to be utterly devoid of wit, wisdom, creativity or perception. Fuck her and horse she rode in on.
