  1. Elsewhere I have seen supposedly witty signs that have been put up by shops aimed at people who don’t want to wear a mask. One says that you can only come into the shop without a mask if you take off all of your clothes. My response of course would be challenge accepted.

    • I take the view that if they don’t want my money, well, others will be happy to have my custom. There is only one way to sort this – don’t shop with them. Don’t play the game. Unfortunately too many people are compliant.

      • That’s the view that I’m taking with regards companies. Toolstation for instance. Their site says that they are open for ‘drive up shopping’ which I quite reasonably took to mean that they were open as normal. However when I got there, the door was blocked by a jobsworth who told me that I couldn’t come in unless I had pre ordered. So I told the jobsworth that I’ll go elsewhere and go somewhere that actually wants my trade. I’ve no objection to click and collect provided that it is clearly advertised in advance as Screwfix do, but to give the impression that the shop is open and then come out with the click and collect bollocks means that I shall shop elsewhere.

        • Sainsbury’s has already lost my custom due to their pandering to this bollocks. I will not queue round the car park just to get into the store.

    • Lol on a stag weekend in Southampton 40 years ago the nightclub bouncer said you can’t come in wearing jeans so I started to take mine off before being dragged away by my less drunk friends.

  2. As Chris Rock might say ‘I so don’t give a fuck if I did give Tom Hanks a fuck I’d steal it back motherfucka’.

  3. I’m told that shops that have recently reopened (Next, T K Max) are enforcing Covid Safety to the nth degree, staff having had a weeks training on the ‘new’ procedures.
Don’t these people visit supermarkets where staff treat all the rules with disdain without any of them keeling over.
In Longriders previous post I mentioned masked cafe staff, not one of the dozen or so customers bothered to.
To be fair I suppose staff are just obeying rules imposed by the vastly empowered Local Authority.

  4. Sorry to be a bit boring by going on about it but daily new cases this month:

    1st 689
    2nd 829
    3rd –
    4th 519
    5th 624
    6th 516
    7th 352

As always there is the occasional upward blip but if all these horrible people are spreading it by refusing to wear a mask, why aren’t the numbers going back up?

    • Suggest a new theme tune over at Toby’s place
Status Quo, Down Down Deeper & Down

      • I can remember when that song was at number 1 and I would listen to it on the school bus. I’m just approaching 62 before you all rack your brains trying to calculate my age.
