We Are So Virtuous

Virtue-signalling has gone into overdrive.

Hundreds of Britons stepped outside their doorsteps last night to ‘take the knee’ and demand justice for the American police killing of George Floyd that is provoking increasing global anger.

Families, children and emergency services across the country showed their support for the Black Lives Matter movement by standing outside their homes and places of work at 6pm yesterday in solidarity with protesters in the U.S.

I despair. Now that giving the NHS the clap has come to an end, these people need something else with which to show the world how right-on and virtuous they are. It’s embarrassing, for crying out loud. It is also creepily Soviet.

What happened in the USA is not something we can affect. The people involved now face criminal charges, so justice must now take its natural course. There is, therefore, nothing to demand. People in the UK kneeling outside their homes will play no part in this process whatsoever. But it makes them feel all warm inside, I suppose. The emotional incontinent Dianaification of the population is now officially complete.

As the clock struck 6pm last night, families across the nation emerged from their homes to kneel on their streets and show their support for the campaign sweeping across the world.

I can’t remember what I was doing at 6pm last night. Probably cooking my tea, so I didn’t look outside. I wonder if the few neighbours who were giving the NHS the clap last week were out on one knee – or “taking the knee” as the politically correct, absurd Americanism has it. We kneel, for crying out loud, we do not “take the knee.” Where do you plan to take this knee anyway? Although, thinking about it, taking it a long way away where no one can see it would be a start.

I freely admit that I’m rapidly becoming a grumpy old man. Although, I am in good company. Like Perry, I’ve been doing my share of unfollowing. I really, really detest vacuous virtue-signalling.

  1. If anybody were to say to me that I should check my “white privilege” (never had the opportunity alas) my response would be for them to check their “(insert designer oppressed clique of choice) inferiority complex”.

The more lunatic lammy/Abbott fringe call white people a disease, a cancer on the human race.

Thinking about it (sigh, do we have to do EVERYTHING for them?) they have a point. But we are not a disease, we are a stimulant, and one they clearly can’t handle.

As for these deeply sad and troubled white individuals “taking the knee”. I won’t dignify them with any further comment.

    • Totally agree. I am fed up with Black people desplaying racial prejudice against White people.

  2. But which knee should I take?
If I run off with the wrong one I know that I will crucified on social media.
If I take both knees will I be berated for just being sarcastic?
And I am not young, and me taking my knee cannot be done quickly so I could well miss the appointed knee moment. Giving my knee back takes even longer.
Bugger it. I’ll just have a whisky and toast Wayne wosisname. He did not die in vain.

      • I can solve both of your problems (LR and Doonhamer). Simply purchase two knees from a chimpanzee or a gorilla and that way you will have a choice of which knee to bend.

It will not be expensive. You can get two ape knees for a penny … >};o)

  3. I’m starting to come around to thinking that if these BAME individuals put half as much effort into making themselves useful as they put into complaining about oppression and discrimination, their problems might actually go away by themselves. People of oriental appearance don’t seem to have these problems. When it comes to the question of Floyd, yes it was terrible what happened to him but he was hardly an honest upstanding citizen was he? If he hadn’t been such a scrote he wouldn’t have been in that situation in the first place.

    • A lot of this is coming from middle-class white kids who have been brainwashed by the education system into thinking that they are the cause of oppression.

      • The education system – certainly here and in the US – is nothing more than a purveyor of agitprop to the gentry and hoi polloi alike.

  4. About that time last night, I was sat on the toilet. It wasn’t quite black. Does that count? It was, however, certainly appropriate.

  5. “Hundreds of Britons stepped outside their doorsteps last night to ‘take the knee’ and demand justice for the American police killing of George Floyd that is provoking increasing global anger.”

My observation would be : No, they didn’t and no it isn’t. It’s more likely that a few morons might have but they were crowded out by the thrashing fingers of MSM hacks making excitement where there isn’t any. Nothing new there, then.

    • Even if true, hundreds isn’t exactly a big showing out of sixty seven million.

  6. I will happily “Bend a Knee” for Black Lives (Splatter) Matter, but I can assure them they will most definitely dislike where I am going to shove it… BLM – Because Looting Matters…

  7. Seems an odd way to honour a murder victim, imitating the actions of the perp, what would they be doing if Loyd had been shot or stabbed ?

Some muppets in my small city have jumped on the wagon by organizing a Covid Safe sympathy rally. Fortunately they have recieved so many pledges of support that the venue has been changed from the Cathedral district, which would have been annoying, to the 6th form college playing fields and skatepark (recently liberated from Lockdown) which is out of the way and where nobody will see them. Let’s hope the skaters feel put upon and give them a good kicking.

  8. After almost 50 years of full time graft of up to 100 hour weeks when providing for my brood, during which time i have never taken a single sick day nor failed to go to work, i now realise my good fortune/luck was due entirely to white privelidge that i’ve had such an easy time of it…end sarc.

Will one or two bended worn out knees be ample or does this call for full prostration in order to earn forgiveness.

Jesus wept, these virtue signaller morons make me puke, the people they are surrendering to wouldn’t know a days work if it bit em in the arse.

  9. If some feel excluded from a thing, let them build a better version. They can then bask in the perverse pleasure of excluding others from their shinier thing.
