This sort of censorship of “misinformation” is horrendous. I see a helluva lot of misinformation out there in the smoking area and the craziness and lies around secondhand/thirdhand/fourthhand smoke but it would NEVER occur to me to ask or demand that they be removed if put up in any general area… as long as criticism and comments directed toward them and clearly available were allowed.
Without the Antismokers posting their “misinformation” my own writings would be nothing more than the boring voice of a lonely preacher that no one would be interested in listening to. Audiences don’t go to arenas to see parades of warriors marching around in circles while smiling and waving their flags…

Let those on the “other side” put up their lies. They focus the eyes of the readers as I come in from across the field and rip them to ribbons. The only sad thing is that usually the main foes that I march against are smart enough to know they can’t defend themselves, so the just leave the corpses to rot out in the sun while they stage new parades elsewhere. Still, sometimes there’ll be those with more glory ‘n guts than brains, and they’ll pop up to wave a blade, and I never mind at all.
That’s what the crowd really wants after all… to see who the victor is in the battle of ideas.

Just to be clear: The “This sort of censorship” comment was aimed at YouTube taking the video down… NOT at the video itself (heh, I have no sound on this monitor so I’ve got NO idea what they’re saying!)

To me it seems that having a penchant for censoring the opinions of others is a pretty sure sign of being wrong. Truth doesn’t need protection from dissenting voices, it can stand up for itself.
When it comes to the subjects of Covid virus and climate change, I find it interesting that good news seems to be the thing that the censorious can’t abide. When was it that the spirit of optimism that we could all strive for a brighter future crawled away and died? If we let them, the pessimists will screw up the future like some miserable self fulfilling prophesy.
Even though it is increasingly clear that the virus is running the usual course of a not so serious seasonal outbreak the BBC continues to pump out the armagedom propaganda at every opportunity.
Saturday Graham Norton was at it sympathising with some celeb about how they were surviving this Terrible Contagion. Look Graham, humans have been around for about a million years, these new viruses appear about every 20 years so you and me and that bloke over there are the Survivors of 50,000 such outbreaks.

Were you are aware that YouTube took this video down as “Misinformation”, but (rather surprisingly) put it back after a barrage of complaints.
That sort of deliberate skewing of the narrative shows the real problems we are up against…
