    • Sure, but very much “a day late and a dollar short”.

      I’m more impressed by the postings of Gillette razors broken in two alongside new razors and blades from their competitors. Never mind a PR escalation, kick them where it hurts, in the profits.

      As usual the anarchic kids on 4Chan /pol/ lead the way. Good.

    • Julia, I think that you may be onto something here. Whilst in the recent past companies may have run scared of various leftist activists and grievance mongers and issued grovelling apologies when someone whined that they were ‘offended’, this situation may be changing. Some companies may be starting to realise that apologising doesn’t make the cry bullies go away, it just emboldens them to make more and more outrageous demands.

      Companies targetted by SJW’s may also be starting to perceive that although the SJW whiners may be very loud and have a strong presence on social media, they may be less well supported in real life and among real consumers than the impression that the SJW’s have given.

      If companies are seeing that the Lefty cry bullies make up a minority of any potential purchasers then they may be seeing that there is money to be made in creating stuff that deliberately triggers the SJW’s. They may start doing this in order to get the sort of publicity that may be out of reach budget-wise for a company and the resulting nothing burger controversy (or even non-traversy) may get their product in front of a great deal of potential real customers.

  2. I finally got around to watching the Gillette ad, I think that if I am going to comment on it I need to see it first hand rather than relying on other people’s commentary on it. I found it to be far more insulting than I expected it to be. Gillette are claiming that there has been a boost in sales following the ad. I would hope that longer term their sales will utterly collapse. Their product is overpriced and, as such, is dependent on brand loyalty. I think that they might have utterly blown it. Time will tell.
