Fourteen

Today is this blog’s fourteenth birthday. A lot has happened in that time. Seems like yesterday I was sufficiently annoyed by the proposal for identity cards to set this ace up from whence to campaign. And I’m still here…

  1. @LR,

Well done for mental stamina to keep going here for 14 years. As a relative newcomer, much appreciated.

Re below: plenty of online Lions, some (eg late Anna Racoon) can not be roaring on street.

    Britain’s Last Lion, Roars

This was by no means certain when he walked into the courtroom at London’s Old Bailey this morning, That’s why he brought along his prison bag and why he had said goodbye to his wife and children, just in case.

Happily, instead the judge did what he and his lawyers had hoped: he referred the case upwards to the Attorney General

More delays – The punishment being the process.

  2. Has it really been 14 years since that nonsense? I guess I’ve been saying that I started paying closer attention to politics 10 years ago for the last four years.

I was one of the people who took part in the young person ID card consultation forum. I remember them making the argument that people post their personal details on Myspace, so why would they object to an ID card? Had I not already been against that certainly would have put me right off. Some clown* gatecrashed the forum and started spouting about libertarianism, which set me off on the journey which eventually led me here. It couldn’t have been long after you started that I stumbled across this blog and have been poking my nose in on and off ever since.

Well done on reaching blog adolescence!

*Obo, of all people, started me on my journey. Somehow this feels wrong.

  3. This post has been making me wonder how I first found this blog. Presumably I followed a link and then bookmarked it but I really don’t remember. Anyway, happy anniversary and keep up the good work.
