Idiotic Drivel

Sigh…

We can stop big firms robbing us of tax. Here’s how

It starts badly and goes downhill from there…

The Paradise Papers revelations have again raised concerns over the way multinational corporations arrange their tax affairs. Why, with high turnovers in countries such as the UK, do they pay so little tax there? The answer is often quite simple: because legally, under international corporate tax rules, they are not required to.

So, they aren’t doing anything wrong. Nothing to see here, so move along.

This idiot is apparently “the chair in tax law at the school of law at Leeds University, and international research fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation” and yet does not realise that “big firms” do not pay tax for they cannot pay tax. The tax is paid by their investors, shareholders, owners, employees and customers. In other words we pay the tax. So far from robbing us of tax, by managing their affairs efficiently and exercising due diligence towards the stakeholders mentioned above, they are helping us reduce the amount of tax robbed from us by the state.

Idiot. Fucking moronic idiot. They let any cretin into academia these days if this drivel is anything to go by. Her solution to this “problem” is an international cartel of tax grabbing robber barons. Nothing could possibly go wrong there…

Oh, and contrary to what this idiot claims, tax competition is a good thing, not a bad one. Without the downward pressure it creates, the various states would simply rob us even more blind than they already do.

  1. Remind me not to visit here before my morning headache has dissipated. Idiots like this only make it worse…

  2. “Why, with high turnovers in countries such as the UK, do they pay so little tax there?”…. Maybe because corporation tax is charged on profit and not turnover? Fucking Moron x 2.

  3. What is it with these people that they think we (not they, obviously) have a “duty” to pay as much tax as possible?

Do they ask the plumber “what’s the price for cash?” Or do they say “no Mr Plumber I insist that you provide me with a VAT invoice so that I know the NHS is not disadvantaged in any way and just to make sure I will advise HMRC that you have provided me with a VAT invoice and insist that HMRC check your VAT return is correct”

  4. Why is that these idiots never take even the briefest glance at the things that the Government actually spends our money on? Maybe they actually think that helping some virtue signalling ignoramus out with the cost of his Tesla is money well spent. You can never have enough publicly funded pressure groups run by single issue obsessives presumably. Then there is the government’s drink aware website were nobody whatsoever goes for “the facts” so they have to run a series of radio ads for it, worth every penny? I suppose it must be. Some websites get millions of hits without having to advertise on the radio apparently.

  5. . . . and it is these sort of brain dead socialist types that infest academia and supposedly educate our snowflakes generation.

  6. It seems to me that anyone who is actually decently talented when it comes to tax law would get themselves a decently paid job at one of the big accountancy firms rather than occupying a seat at a university nobody cares about.
