Some good news. Some awful news. My insurance company has agreed a settlement on the bike merely a week after it went missing. As they are offering a thousand pounds above the valuation the dealer gave me, I’ve accepted. Later this year, I’ll replace my beloved RT with another one.

Yesterday, Mrs L was diagnosed with cancer. We are in shock and I’m not inclined to be blogging over much at the moment. So I have nothing to add to the Manchester tragedy.

  1. Best wishes for the Boss. Have been there myself (she’s currently in remission)and it’s a worrying time for all. You will soon find out who are your true friends. Take care, both of you.

  2. Sorry to hear about Mrs L. The earlier the diagnosis the better chance of recovery, here’s hoping they caught it in time

  3. That truly sucks, Longrider. All the best to Mrs L. Sincerely hope they’ve caught it early and she responds well to treatment. Currently I’ve got my mum in remission about 10 years after she had breast cancer and a very good friend who is in remission about 5 years after stomach cancer so there is hope in this day and age.

  4. Very sorry to hear the bad news. However, where there is life, there is hope, especially these days.

  5. Our attitude – from bitter experience – is that positive thought is an excellent medication.

    • The waiting is definitely the worst part, everything seems to take so long, tests and results take time and it’s very hard until you know exactly what you are dealing with.

  6. Sorry to hear the bad news about your wife, as a seven year survivor I know exactly what a shock it is. Early diagnosis is the key and I hope Mrs. L was caught early. Learn as much as you can and you will be able to ask all the right questions and the various options. Good luck.

  7. Dear Mr Longrider

Sorry to learn about Mrs Longrider’s diagnosis.

I hope all goes well for you both.

  8. Ah, you’ve put it up now. I can only reiterate what I said before – shellshocked and one can only hope.

  9. Very sorry to hear this. Hope it turns out not as awful as it seems now.

    All the best
