Yeah, Right, Keep Taking the Tablets

Noam Chomsky reckons it is all the media’s fault that Jezza is being rejected by the great unwashed.

Professor Noam Chomsky has claimed that any serious future for the Labour party must come from the leftwing pressure group Momentum and the army of new members attracted by the party’s leadership.

In an interview with the Guardian, the radical intellectual threw his weight behind Jeremy Corbyn, claiming that Labour would be doing far better in opinion polls if it were not for the “bitter” hostility of the mainstream media. “If I were a voter in Britain, I would vote for him,” said Chomsky, who admitted that the current polling position suggested Labour was not yet gaining popular support for the policy positions that he supported.

The man’s an idiot. Momentum is a modern offshoot of militant tendency; an extreme left-wing group that represents a tiny minority of socialist nutcases. England is not a naturally leftist country. Scotland and Wales might lean that way, but overall, the UK tends to reject extremists and Momentum is an extremist group. Jeremy Corbyn is peddling the kind of moronic socialism that dragged this country to its knees begging the IMF for a bail-out last time it was tried. If Chomsky thinks that this is a good thing then he is even more deranged than I thought he was.

Many of us dislike the Tories (more professional politicians sucking at the taxpayers’ teat, failing to do anything about the bloated state et al), however, they are paragons of fiscal competence when compared to Labour. Which is why Labour will be rejected on June the 8th. Fuck all to do with the media. We simply know which side our bread is buttered – even if someone did drop it in the mud first.

He blamed neoliberal policies for the breakdown in democracy, saying they had transferred power from public institutions to markets and deregulated financial institutions while failing to benefit ordinary people.

Ah, yes, the new definition of democracy. If the left aren’t winning, democracy has broken down.

  1. Well Labour’s manifesto is now in the public domain and it’s more batshit insane than even the most optimistic Tory could have hoped for.

  2. When Corbyn sits on TV interviews, rambling and prevaricating on almost every question posed to him, seeing both sides of every argument in detail but often unable to remove the fencepost from his arse, how is that the media’s fault?

I’m not saying Theresa May is the most amazing PM we’ve ever had, but you wouldn’t let either Corbyn or Tim Farron run a Tombola, let alone political psrties.

    • I’m not saying Theresa May is the most amazing PM we’ve ever had…

Quite so. However, in present company she shines. Sigh…

  3. I’d have put it thus; “We simply know which side our bread is buttered – even if the powers that be stole it, ate half, then stamped the rest into the mud.”

  4. Democracy? From Labour?
I see today the Unite has loaned Comrade Corbyn a strategist who by his own admission was a card carrying member of the communist party until last December.

The reason Jezza is losing is because he’s a prat. Simples…
