And Nor Should He

Boris is sticking to his guns.

A defiant Boris Johnson told friends he had no intention of apologising for his outspoken comments about Saudi Arabia during a trip to the Gulf and hit out at party critics who said he might be better suited to another job in government.

Quite right, too. These regimes are abhorrent, vile despotic theocracies and their ideology has no place in the civilised world. It’s about time politicians started telling these thugs precisely what we think of them instead of pussyfooting about for fear of upsetting their delicate constitutions.

On Thursday, Johnson was rebuked by Downing Street after it emerged he had accused Saudi Arabia of being among countries engaged in fighting “proxy wars” in the Middle East, breaking the Foreign Office’s convention of not criticising a key UK ally in the region.

Perhaps we should do away with that convention? Besides, while HMG might refer to the Saudis as an ally, as far as I am concerned they are the enemy.

  1. Absolutely, like all such states where the rule of “law” is based on the evil, barbaric cult of PedoMo, Saudi Arabia is a despotic, Islamic shithole whose values are in no way compatible with those of a western, liberal democracy. There is something very wrong when we regard such odious scum as our allies.

  2. There are too many ‘apologies’ by far. For once can people show some backbone and stand by a statement, possibly even giving a well deserved derogatory gesture to the perpetually offended.
