Porkies

As is usual, the leftists dhimmis like to deliberately misconstrue perfectly reasonable comments.

Norway’s integration minister has been widely mocked and asked to “reconsider her position” after telling the country’s Muslims to adapt to the country’s culture.

When in Rome? When I lived in France, I spoke in French, I accepted that cheese was a large part of the diet and shops didn’t open much on Mondays. I was an incomer. I adapted or tough. I adapted; seemed the sensible thing to do. Besides, I was there by choice, so fitting in was why I went. And is that merely what Listhaug was saying? Well, yes and well, no…

Sylvi Listhaug, from the anti-immigrant Progress Party, caused fury and confusion on Monday when she posted on Facebook on the eve of a national integration conference. “I think those who come to Norway need to adapt to our society,” read the post.

No reasonable person could possibly misunderstand this. She is simply pointing out that incomers adapt to the host nation’s culture. Perfectly sensible. Except… We have the professionally offended to deal with…

“Here we eat pork, drink alcohol and show our face. You must abide by the values, laws and regulations that are in Norway when you come here.”

See, nowhere has she said that Muslims must eat pork or drink alcohol, merely that they accept that Norwegians do and get used to the idea. She was pointing out that Islam is not an excuse for not serving pork or alcohol when working in service industries. Again, perfectly reasonable. If your idiotic superstition prohibits such things, don’t work in those industries – or, better, live in an Islamic shithole where you don’t have to act against your primitive superstition. Whichever.

“It’s a general civil right to choose what you want to eat in this country and in other countries,” said user Bente Bull.

“Listhaug is creating problems.”

Elisabeth Rønnild wrote: “The stupidest thing I’ve ever read.”

Norwegian criminologist Omar Gilani Syed, who has worked on refugee integration, asked via the Aftenposten newspaper whether Ms Listhaug should reconsider her position.

See what I mean. Listhaug did not say, nor did she suggest, nor did she even vaguely hint that Muslims be told what to eat – merely that they tolerate the host culture and what they consume. But the leftist dhimmis are content to twist her comments in order to build their strawman.

“If she does not understand the complexity and does not have the expertise to deal with these social issues in a good way, it’s time to ask: should Listhaug reconsider her position?” he said.

I would suggest that Listhaug understands the situation perfectly and her comments reflect that. When in Rome do as the Romans do. When in Norway – or any other civilised country – accept that the inhabitants eat pork, drink alcohol and have no reason to adapt to your primitive superstition or to respect it. Syed is the one who needs to consider his position, not Listhaug.

Ms Listhaug has clarified her position on social media, making it clear she never told anyone what they should be eating. She wrote on Tuesday: “You misunderstand me, but that’s the way it is. Not for the first time. I mean, of course they should not be forced to drink alcohol or eat pork.

This really shouldn’t need saying. Really. You have to be either a cretin or disingenuous to come to any other conclusion.

“What I said is that I expect when you come to Norway, to align yourself with the Norwegian labour market. It’s about how one must endure serving pork if you will be working in a restaurant, or serve alcohol if you work at a piano bar. And in the same way, you don’t turn up in sweatpants and caps on a job interview, you have to think about how to dress to get a job.”

Precisely.

  1. Yup, if you can’t find something to moan about, misconstrue, misrepresent and if that fails, then lie. You can then be outraged and earn brownie points.

    • i am sorry” Brownie points ” is the wrong term to use and has undertones that I willfully misconstrue. Why not whitey points or do we have none? I could never get brownie points because they did not understand my convenience transgender when trying to get into a pair of knickers.

  2. Proof positive that these buggers have not the slightest intention of trying to integrate into our society. If they want to live in a shithole and behave like shits then why don’t they just fuck off back there and leave us in peace?

Oh! I know! It’s because they want to plunder our benefits system…

I have no intention of living in a foreign country but if I did I’d make every effort to speak the language and respect their way of life. That seems perfectly reasonable to me.

  3. They’re always gobbing off about respect and honour, but fail completely to show any to their host countries.
What rubbish lefty windbags come up with, desperate to kiss the RoP’s arse to keep their cushy numbers going when they’ve surrendered, bend over you soft bastards and get ready for what you will truly receive, appreciation thanks and hand outs it won’t be, the perma offended RoP must be pissing themselves laughing in disgust at these lefty twats, if they could find a sense of humour going spare that is.

  4. These people complaining should reread what the minister wrote. It is common sense and perfectly reasonable. They have to get used to Western ways pretty quickly and fit in. I would expect them to wear Western dress too, especially in the Norwegian winter.
