It’s a Start

Via Dick Puddlecote, via Simon Clark, I  see that the fake charity Smokefree Southwest has got the order of the boot.

Smokefree South West is to close in June after cuts to public health funding.

Good. Excellent. This nasty little organisation of hectoring, lecturing taxpayer-funded leeches should have been defunded long ago. Indeed, they should never have been funded in the first place. All charities should be defunded. The state – whether at local or national level – has no business funding charities forcibly from the money they  extort from us. If we want to fund them, that is up to us. If we do not, they go to the wall. This is how it should be. But by far, the most egregious, the most vile, the most wicked, are those that are not charities at all. And Smokefree Southwest is not and never was a charity – it is a de-facto arm of the state set up to harry people who engage in a perfectly legal lifestyle choice.

Good riddance. Now can we move onto the next fake charity and do some more defunding, please? And keep going until there are none left.

  1. LR – even more good news re charities over a VGIF. Charities are to be prevented from using Government-provided funds for lobbying purposes. Thus (hopefully) also ending the “Government lobbying itself” scenario. Perhaps, at long last, the end is just now appearing over the horizon for the fake-charity beanfest which has blighted our society for so many years. Fingers crossed …
