Dear God!

Arseholes.

North Vancouver is thought to be the first city in the world to have climate change labels on fuel pumps.

There was a unanimous vote passed earlier this week by the city council in favour of the awareness labels. The warning stickers will be found on top of fuel pumps, acting as an informative and suggestive notice to fuel users in order to help climate change.

The labels will be similar to those found on packets of cigarettes and tobacco in the UK, encouraging people to think about their own effect on the environment.

Because getting on with the business of running the council clearly doesn’t take up much of their time and imposing extra costs on businesses is just so important – not to mention wasting taxpayers’ time even debating this rubbish. I mean, really, do these cretins think that it will make the slightest iota of difference? When we call in for  fuel, we top up, pay and go. I for one do not waste time on anything else and I won’t be reading any stupid climate change bollocks on sticky labels. Just as well I’m not in Canada.

These reminders might include swapping your existing car for an electric one,

Go fuck yourself. Have you any idea how we produce electricity?

trading an old car for a public transport travel pass

Go fuck yourself. I have a car for a reason, you twerps.  Public transport has its place, but even though I work in public transport, most of the time it doesn’t  go where I need, when I need, hence my own private transport.

and saving fuel by keeping tyres properly inflated.

Oh, for crying out loud! Patronising people, yeah, that will really work.

He also noted that he wanted the fuel pump labels to be similar to cigarette warnings that have images on them for them to be as effective as possible.

Slippery slope?  What slippery slope?

North Vancouver council will begin to design the labels, which are expected to cost around £1,500.

Can we hang them all yet?

  1. How long will it be (if things carry on like this) before anyone wanting to own a car has to go before some McCarthy-esque public committee made up of knit-your-own-tofu eco-loons,sixth form socialists and general busybodies to justify why they should be allowed to have one, although those people deemed to be essential workers, i.e. those people who make up the committees will of course be exempt from the rules affecting the proles.

  2. Click through to the article and you discover a weapons grade cunt called Rob Shirkey (Mayor Darrell Mussatto runs him close). It is narcissistic, know-nothing, meddling, nannyistas like Rob Shirkey who make me determined to maintain as high a carbon footprint as possible in order to counterbalance their pathetic efforts. I hope my local council don’t make use of him and waste the already ridiculously high rates we pay.

He’s a British expat who lives in Vancouver!

  4. How much of an ignoramus do you have to be to think that electric cars are green? I saw a Nissan Leaf the other day, it had a badge on the back that said “Zero Emissions”. Do the idiots who buy these things think that electricity grows on a magic tree?

  5. Yes. I heard a few months ago that North Vancouver Council were planning to put this forward. They’re a funny bunch over there. Too much money and no real problems, so they have to invent them. Just to make themselves look important.

  6. It had a badge on the back that said “Zero Emissions”

I complained to the Advertising Standards Authority earlier this year about a TV advert Renault were running for their “Zoe” electric car. The same “Zero Emissions” claim was clearly visible, but they rejected my complaint. This is part of their reply:

We’ve previously investigated a complaint about a car ad that stated “zero emissions”. In the investigation the ASA Council, the final arbiter of complaints, noted that the claim was qualified by text on the same page clarifying that it does not produce emissions “whilst driving”. The Council stated: “We considered that that information made clear that the Nissan LEAF did not produce emissions while driving and that consumers would understand the claim was referring to the specific context of the vehicle when in use, and did not include emissions produced by the generation of the electricity used to power the vehicle.” Because the title claim “zero emissions” was qualified by “whilst driving”, they concluded the ad was not in breach of the Code, and the complaint was not upheld

It’s perfectly obvious that the Green Blob have far too much influence…
