Oh, Do…

Go fuck yourselves.

Non-smokers who live with a smoker are exposed to three times the officially recommended safe levels of damaging air particles, according to a study.

The researchers found that living with smokers is the same as living in smoke-free homes in heavily polluted cities such as Beijing or London.

They said moving to smoke-free homes could have major health benefits for non-smokers.

I’d like to say that I have never read such rampant bollocks, but we get this cack produced almost on a daily basis. I live with a smoker – and no it is not like the Beijing smog in our house. For flying fuck’s sake! It’s a bit of burning leaf from time to time – as compared to the particulates from carbohydrates burned by the internal combustion engine. It has not done me the slightest bit of harm nor will it. The second-hand smoke nonsense is a myth.

Collectively, the studies produced air quality data from 93 smoking homes with a further 17 non-smoking households. Most sampling was for a 24-hour period with the exception of one study data, which was generally carried out over a period of 6-7 days.

This is statistically insignificant. It is not a study at all, it is propaganda and piss poor propaganda at that. It is the usual rampant fuckwittery we have come to expect from the new-puritans of the medical world. My heart and lungs are just dandy – and having had a medical recently, I have the evidence to prove it.

If these scumbags think for one nanosecond that they are going to get a ban placed on my home, then it will be over my dead body. Likewise my car. My property, my rules. And if I choose to allow smoking, that is my concern, not theirs.

“These measurements show that second-hand tobacco smoke can produce very high levels of toxic particles in your home: much higher than anything experienced outside in most towns and cities in the UK.

No, they don’t.

“Making your home smoke-free is the most effective way of dramatically reducing the amount of damaging fine particles you inhale.”

Fuck off and mind your own business.

  1. Knock Knock!

Hello, Mr LR, we’re medical staff who’ve come to help you. Your recent postings have shown that your partner’s pollution has affected both your cognitive and reasoning abilities.

Your vehement condemnation of our caring advice proves this deterioration:- most people are just little children really, and need the guidance of the selfless few such as us.

No, Mr LR, I can’t do that:- it’s a physical and biological impossibility.

We’re going to take you away to a place where we can help you to get better, and to see that ours is the only sensible viewpoint. Yes, these half-a-dozen very large men with lengths of rubber hose and electric cattle-prods are going to make sure you do come with us.

After all, it’s all for your own good, and one day you’ll thank us.

  2. The researchers also estimated that the overall mass of PM2.5 inhaled over an 80-year period for a person living in a typical smoke free home was about 0.76g compared with a similar person living in a smoking home, who would inhale about 5.82g.”

    0.76 grams.
    5.82 grams.
    Over 80 years.

    Question:
Is inhaling 0.76 grams over 80 years dangerous? If the answer is no, then why is inhaling 5.82 grams over 80 years dangerous?

    • And if you’ve made it to 80, who cares anyway? My gran lived to 93 and finally succumbed to respiratory failure. Doubtless smoking exacerbated it, but so what? If she hadn’t smoked maybe she would have got an extra year or two?

  3. “They said moving to smoke-free homes could have major health benefits for non-smokers.”

In other words, the assault on smokers now includes a campaign to break up their marriages and estrange them from their families. If that isn’t pure filth, I don’t know what is.
