The Biter Bit

You have to smile

GCHQ disrupted “hacktivist” communications by using one of their own techniques against them, according to the latest Edward Snowden leaks.

Documents from the whistle-blower published by NBC indicate UK cyberspies used a denial of service attack (DoS) in 2011 to force a chatroom used by the Anonymous collective offline.

So a bunch of criminal bullies got bitten by their own sordid technique. Well colour me unsympathetic. Sure, I don’t have much time for the shenanigans of GCHQ – but I like Anonymous less. So, really, I’d be happy to see both lose and if they are at each other’s throats, that’s no bad thing. Hopefully, like the two cats of Kilkenny, there won’t be much left.

  1. Anonymous hoist with their own petard (-ish).

    Ironic, but sweet.

I have little time for either, but if two factions of The Ungodly Ones spend their time concentrating on harassing each other, we hoi-polloi might gain some brief respite from their actions.

  2. Ho ho ho comeuppance aplenty there, GCHQ and Anonymous are both a bunch of low lives personally I dislike Anonymous far more.
Let’s hope they are both so busy hacking each other that they turn themselves inside out.
Anonymous are a dangerous bunch GCHQ just do what the government tells them like good little puppets, where as anonymous choose their actions.
2 sides of the same coin really, set a thief to trap a thief is that not the saying.
