  1. Read it. Didn’t weep. Got FURIOUS! And I mean fire-breathing mad!
Some jumped-up politico in a country poorer by half than we are decides to make a name for him/herself by resurrecting an ancient, already-settled case involving a foreigner (always a safe target, everyone hates a ‘foreigner) and gets an illegal warrant (it’s not filled in correctly) to have one of OUR citizens incarcerated? The period of incarceration depends entirely on the time it takes for them to get off their fat arses to fill in the right details? Madness.
I was in the Police for 30 years; drummed into me right from the start was the fact that I HAD to tell every person I arrested the reasons for their arrest. I HAD to state what the offence was, when it was said to have happened and what I had good reason to believe was the arrested persons involvement in the crime was. If I couldn’t fulfil all of the requirements I could NOT make the arrest.
As far as my fading sight permits, I cannot, for the life of me, see how this ‘arrest’ would be permitted to stand in any English Court of Law.
But the EU warrant disposes of such legal niceties as evidence, charges etc.
What a travesty of what purports to be “law”.
    Now I’m even angrier.
