Warsi on Islamophobia

Baroness Warsi is to warn us against prejudice against Islam. Indeed, she says that such prejudice is now socially acceptable.

Islamophobia has “passed the dinner-table test” and become widely socially acceptable in Britain, according to Lady Warsi, the Conservative chairman.

Warsi, the first Muslim woman to attend Cabinet, is expected to use a speech at Leicester University today to raise the alarm over the way in which she believes prejudice against Muslims is now seen by many Britons as normal.

She will also warn against the tendency to divide Muslims between “moderates” and “extremists”, which she contends can fuel misunderstanding and intolerance.

Okay, a little linguistic  pedantry is due here. Firstly a phobia is an irrational fear or hatred and prejudice is to pre-judge without knowledge. I would suggest that much of the dislike of Islam stems from observation of behaviour. We see Moslems playing their hand in victim-hood poker and the righteous telling us repeatedly that we must not offend them, indeed, we must respect their beliefs –  even though their beliefs are not only absurd, but are based on the deranged rantings of a medieval warlord who believed in conversion by sword point. This is a religion that is intolerant of other religions –  see what happens to Christians or homosexuals in Islamic countries and see how tolerance works when the boot is on the other foot. Oh, yes, that’s right; it doesn’t. Islam is a very intolerant religion. Not only is it a religion, it is a political system that has at its heart a barbaric, primitive legal code that treats a woman’s word as less than that of a man. Dislike of these beliefs is hardly Islamophobia and the word is usually tossed into the ring by the righteous to stifle perfectly reasonable debate.

In short, Islam –  the belief system and political code –  is misogynistic and intolerant of non Moslems, at best demanding jizya from non believers and at worst persecuting and killing them. If Britain was to become a Moslem country, there would be no discussion of Christianophobia, as Christians would be fair game. Remember how this cult uses blasphemy laws to persecute those who follow a different creed. In any modern society, blasphemy laws would not exist. When Islam no longer sees itself as superior (as it clearly is not, it is barbaric and primitive), does not demand dhimmitude from non-Moslems and treats women as the equals of men, then, perhaps, I can take any accusations of prejudice seriously. My distaste for Islam is not prejudice, for I understand fully what I find despicable about it. Nor is my dislike irrational, for to despise these things is perfectly rational.

I have no interest in dividing moderate Moslems and extremists. It is of no consequence to me. I treat individuals as just that; individuals, no matter what they believe. I  do not treat someone less favourably for being a follower of Mohammed. It is the belief itself that I despise utterly and completely. I am capable of separating the two. If they keep their religion to themselves, we’ll get along just fine.

And, sometimes, intolerance is the right approach. Tolerating the intolerable is hardly reasonable and if intolerance of this evil cult is now socially acceptable, then that is a good thing, not a bad one. And I am happy to be openly intolerant of this nasty belief system. I happen to quite like what I see of Warsi, she is a likeable politician. I abhor her religion. I don’t need her to lecture me about prejudice, for I suffer from neither that nor a phobia.

  1. “In any modern society, blasphemy laws would not exist.”

What are the laws that criminalize so-called ‘incitement to racial hatred’ except blasphemy laws? Blasphemy against the establishment religion. Put what name to that religion you like, the penalties are 16th Century for those who dare break those laws.

  2. Warsi has obviously not read or understood her collection of Dark Ages camelherders’ myths.
I find this about religious believers.
The followers of Bronze-Age goatherders’ myths, called christianity, are no better.
The “recital” specifically states that women are inferior to men, and subject to their orders – and Warsi goes along with this, presumably? Similarly, it states that “unbelievers” are inferior, and should be either converted to “submission” or treated as inferiors, or killed. There are LOTS of verses about punishing and killing unbelievers.
In short the whole thing is like utra-calvinist christianity on steroids.

  3. Greg Tingey, I would suggest you get out and about and meet some Christian believers, real ones, not AGV supporters or druids and then decide if their core understanding of tolerance and compassion is anywhere near yours; or not as one would suspect from your opinions.

  4. Why is she where she is?
    One of an ethnic minority.
    A woman
    Muslim
If she were a lesbian, pregnant and in a wheelchair – she would be the next in line to the throne.

    Total cobblers.
My journey to atheism STARTED when I relaised that my local CofE vicar refused to accept evolution.
It is reinforced at least 6 times a week by the US-funded xttain nutters (“The bible is inerrant”) who have taken over the chapel at the corner of my street – and who are thoroughly loathed by all the inhabitants here.
Oh, and don’t give me: “But they aren’t REAL [insert name of belief in invisible sky fairy here]’s!” ….
I would remind you that I’ve read most of the “bible”, and all of the “recital”.
I KNOW what collections of murderous blackmailing lies are contained in both those works. You, only too clearly, don’t.

  6. Did the speech actually take place? There seems very little about it in the news today – I know the slimey war crim is back and (another) copper has been knobbing on the job – but I did expect to hear something about it…..

  7. It’s because she’s a Bilderburger. Cameron has been told by the Lord High Illuminatus he must have her in the cabinet as part of the New World Order agenda so she can start the secret policy of circumcising our children.
