The Shorter Richard Murphy

Today’s “ragging Ritchie” post over at Timmy’s links us to the idiot Murphys latest approach to debate.

For a comment to be published I must be satisfied that:

1. It is legal;

2. It is polite;

3. It includes an argument that adds value to readers;

4. It appears factually accurate;

5. That the commentator is genuine;

6. It is not promoting an opinion usually associated with the far right political fringes (for these purposes the UK Independence Party and beyond within the UK domestic environment);

7. It is not posted by a person I consider to be usually associated with the far right of the political spectrum.

That’s his revised blog comment policy.

As Tim points out, his blog, his rules. However, it could be simplified for the sake of clarity – “dissent will not be tolerated”. which just about sums up the pompous poltroon.

  1. That was Ritchie, was it? Anyway, being a UKIP bod, you are beyond the pale in Ritchie’s alternative universe. He simply cannot grasp that people who disagree with him are not outside the “mainstream” and do not foam at the mouth, strangle kittens and eat babies – or, worse, undermine society the horror!

  2. What a pompous silly man! I’m getting so fed up with the near absence of sensible civilised discussion on the blogosphere (with honourable exceptions, including here) that I probably won’t be blogging any more in 2010. There’s far too much intolerant ranting and raving and personal abuse for my liking. But I’ve never moderated comments on my own blogs, except to weed out commercial spam, viagra adverts and so forth.
