Final, Final Update on the Blog Problem
Fortunately, the Google bots managed to archive my blog before it all went tits-up. The outcome is that I’ve managed a 100% recovery. Although the problem was mostly my fault in the first place, I’m feeling pretty smug that I managed to get it all back – even if it was a massive headache in the process.

“Nice une” is a bit of a give-away… I’d expect at the least “bien”, “bon” or “tres bien”. The French do sometimes use OK, but are more likely to use “d’accord”. If you do a literal translation of those terms you’ll get “very well” and “of agreement” - yet they are used more loosely than that in practice.
That’s the trouble with translation - often there is no literal translation, just a sense of the meaning. The best way is to think in the foreign language and not to translate.

Well, in that case, I can say ‘the cat and the dog are in the swimming pool’ but what use is that?
