This Friday is “work your proper hours” day apparently. Workers are being urged to send their boss an email pointing out that they are doing unpaid overtime.
This has been going on forever - I recall during my time at Strachan and Henshaw being told that managers didn’t get paid for overtime, but were expected to do it anyway. At Railtrack I fell into the same trap when I was promoted to the management grades. Companies are getting millions of pounds worth of free work here, and employees are getting more and more stressed by overwork and high expectations.
Of course, being self-employed, none of that applies to me….

I don’t think that I’d ever want a salaried position. You’d spend more time working overtime for free than sitting on your butt doing nothing and getting paid for it.Visit me @ http://pimme.blog-city.com
